General Note
A civilian engineer for Contractors, Pacific Naval Air Bases on Wake Island, Forsythe became a prisoner of the Japanese forces when the island surrendered on December 23, 1941, and remained in prison camps in China and Japan until September 1945. After the war, Forsythe worked for the Veterans Administration in Boise, Idaho.
