Background
The Association for the Humanities in Idaho was funded through the National Endowment for the Humanities and operated as a federally-funded, independent Idaho commission. The organization changed its name around 1985, to the Idaho Humanities Council. The mission of the organization is to increase awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the humanities in Idaho.
