Historical Note
The Antique Festival Theatre was founded in 1964 in Buhl, Idaho by Di Bowler, Aldrich Bowler and H. Paul Kliss. The first performances of classical theatre of the 17th, 18th and 19th century were staged at the Ramona building on Broadway in Buhl, Idaho.
The company evolved into a fully professional touring company operating year round in Idaho and neighboring states. Company members were recruited seasonally and included undergraduate and post graduate students as well as professional thespians. Scholarships were offered to students and workshops were presented at schools. The repertoire included classical, contemporary, folk and experimental drama.

The collection also includes the contents of scrapbooks that were kept for each year. The materials were removed from the scrapbooks and placed in folders identified by year and title of plays performed. These files include clippings, programs, news releases, correspondence, brochures and photographs. Copies of the newspaper column "Aristophanes and Me" and materials related to visual arts exhibits are also contained in these folders. There is one folder of documents related to the Idaho Commission on the Arts.
