Biographical/Historical Note

The Windle (aka Wendle) family settled in Virginia during the 1830s. The family later migrated to Idaho. Jacob Windle, married to Tryphania Wilcox in 1957, was the first of the family to arrive in Idaho in 1882. Daniel Bailey Coasts and his wife Sarah Windle Coates followed them the same year. The Windle family and their extended family members settled in and around Payette, French, and Little Willow, Idaho. Burrel THomas Windle, grandson of Jacob and Tyrphania, was born in April 1898 in New Plymouth, Idaho. Burrel worked as a farm boy and after marrying in 1920, he and his wife filed for Government Homestead Land in 1920.
