Biographical Note

William E. Borah was born in Illinois in June 1865. He married Mary McConnell in Boise in 1895, and served as U.S. Senator for Idaho from 1907 until his death in 1940.

Mary McConnell was born in California in October 1870, the daughter of a former U.S. Senator and Idaho Governor William J. McConnell. She died in January 1976 in Oregon.
