Biographical Note
Charles B. Little was born August 29, 1866 in Sparta, Illinois. He worked as a millwright and carpenter in Kansas and as a contractor and builder in Colorado. He came to Boise in 1890 and became one of the leading contractors and builders in the city.
In 1896, he married Laurett Morse, daughter of Charles W. Morse, who came to the area in 1863. Charles and Lauretta Little had three childre: Delbert, Errol and Edna. Little retired as a building contractor in 1912 and became superintendent of buildings and grounds for the Boise Independent School District. He worked in that position for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1939.
LIttle worked as supervisor or contractor in the construction of numerous buildings in Boise, among them the Ada County Courthouse, the first unit of the Post Office, the Idaho building, the Baird building, St. Luke's Hospital, the First National Bank building, St. Margaret's School, the Falk building, the Empire building, over 100 residences, and all of the schools in the Independent School District in use at the time of his death in 1947.
Little died on January 7, 1984 in Boise at the age of 80. He had been the oldest living member of the Boise First Presbyterian Church.
