Historical Note

The Boise Chamber of Commerce Aviation Committee planned the Boise celebration of the 50th anniversay of United Airlines. Activities included the re-enactment of the flight of a Swallow aircraft from Pasco, Washington to Boise and on to Elko, Nevada. The original flight in 1926 by Varney Airlines, a United predecessor company, marked the dawn of commercial air transportation in America.
