The collection consists of a report (30 l.) by Michal Berreth of Ford's Creek Research Center on the history of the Wiltse cabin and the immediate area. Included are maps, site reports, and photographs.

General Note
The Wiltse cabin was apparently built in 1901 by Bion Wiltse, then an overseer of the mining operation and work crew for the Grangeville Hydraulic Company. In 1903 and 1904, the area was no longer held by the Company but was claimed by Wiltse and other partners. Although only ruins remain, the cabin was located east of the North Fork of the Clearwater River and south of Rock Creek, within the Clearwater National Forest.
