General Note
Callaghan was an educator and civic leader active with the Hoover Commission, YWCA, Alpha Xi Delta sorority, National Congress of Parents and Teachers, and League of Women Voters, among others. She was born in San Francisco in 1906 and died in Salt Lake City in 1975. According to Boise city directories, Callaghan's mother, Effie Spenker, was the manager of the Mechanafe in 1932 and 1933.
