The first manuscript, "Mr. Walter J. Burns-Photographer," is an account of Mr. Burns' early life in northern Idaho including encounters with Indians. Mr. Burns was born in Lewiston, Idaho in 1879; he grew up on Potlatch Creek between Juliaetta and Kendrick. The account is signed by Mr. Burns. Also included are a photograph of a sugar cane mill operated by his father and a photo of Mr. Burns.

The second manuscript, "Old Fort Buildings," is a description of the Hospital and Opera House buildings that were located on Fort Sherman. This account is signed by Sister Avillena. Five photographs of Fort Sherman buildings are included.
