Content Description
The collection consists of photographs, newspaper clippings, blueprints, and other materials associated with the sternwheeler, "Steamer Jean." Also included is a scrapbook assembled by Lucille Brister, who worked for some time as a cook on the Steamer Jean.

Historical Note
The ship was in operation from 1938 until some point in the mid-1970s. It was based at the Portland Public Docks and performed tugboat duty along the Columbia and Willamette rivers. Most of the photographs and newspaper clippings place this ship at the Port of Portland.
