Scope and Contents
The Linda Lund Davis Papers span the years 1974-1978 (bulk dates, 1976-1978) and includes documents collected while working as County Planning Administrator and Director of Local Public Administration of the Ada Council of Government and as the first female Ada County Commissioner. The collection is organized into one series, consisting of one box with 8 folders. The collection contains photographs of Linda Lund Davis, letters received while in office, memorandums, public hearing minutes, campaign publications, reports, and newspaper clippings. Her tenure as a commissioner involved legal action against herself and other members of county government regarding the use of the 1977 Real Property Tax Rolls for assessment purposes which are documented in this collection. Growth issues in the county and the modernization and transformation of the local government are also documented.

Biographical / Historical
Linda Lund Davis was a land-use planning professional that moved to Boise, Idaho in 1973 to serve as the County Planning Administrator and Director of Local Public Administration for the Ada Council of Governments (ACOG). In October 1976 after the death of the serving commissioner Gene Crawford, she was appointed to his vacant seat on the Ada County Commission by Governor Andrus to serve out the remainder of the term. She ran for the seat in the November 1976 election and won, becoming the first woman to win this seat and one of only a few democrats to ever sit on the commission. She resigned from her seat on October 27, 1978. She relocated to Portland, Oregon with her husband where she continued her work as a land-use planner until her retirement.
