Biographical / Historical

The Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue Unit is a volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives through search, rescue and mountain safety education. The organization emerged in the late 1950s to meet the need for volunteers with experience in conducting searches for lost persons in order to assist the Idaho Sheriff's departments that were understaffed.
