Background
Golden Garden Club was founded in 1939, It was the second Garden Club in Boise. It is now the oldest club in Boise. They were founded in Southeast Boise. They are an active club and have three projects that they have maintained for nearly thirty years. One of their projects is caring for the Desert Garden, across from the meerkats at Zoo Boise. Their cover photo is of what was known formally as Capitol Park, but now is Cecil Andrus Park. It's located across the street from the Capitol. Their other project is maintaining a gazebo garden at Valley View Retirement home. They also, once a year, take flowers to Valley View and let the residents make bouquets for their rooms. Any extra flowers are made into bouquets by the members to take to those who can't get out of their rooms to participate.
