Content Description
This collection contains project files from Boise architect Nat J. Adams. Included are drawings, notes, specifications, reports, contracts, correspondence, and photographs. Projects cover the years 1955-1990 and include additions and remodels, as well as new construction.

Biographical / Historical
Nat J. Adams earned his degree in architecture at the University of Oregon and upon graduation he returned to Boise to practice his profession. After receiving his architectural license he founded Nat J. Adams and Associates. His firm was responsible for more than 700 projects throughout the western states. Nat's legacy of work includes schools, banks, churches, hospitals, nursing homes, and private residences. Notable Idaho projects include Bronco Stadium and Physical Education Complex at Boise State University, Valley View Elementary School (Boise), Idaho First National and First Security Banks, All Saints Episcopal Church (Boise), St. Thomas Episcopal Church (Ketchum), First Church of Christ Scientist (Boise), Western Pines Rehabilitation and Care Center (Meridian), former residence of J.R. Simplot (Boise), and the Ste. Chapelle Winery (Sunny Slope). A number of his firm's projects received American Institute of Architects (A.I.A.) design awards. Nat's career in architecture spanned over half a century.
