Biographical Note
Boise attorney and secretary of the Idaho Republican State Central Committee. Davis was born in Preston, ID in 1874. He was a graduate of West Point and served in the Spanish-American War. He ran unsuccessfully for the gubernatorial nomination in 1916. He returned to duty for World War I. He began his law practice shortly after returning. Davis was appointed United States District Attorney in 1921. He was very active in law, especially regarding Prohibition. He died July 24, 1934 of a heart attack in a federal court room in Atlanta, Georgia.
