Biographical Note
Wallace David Gillis, 1878-1945, was a Twin Falls County Republican Representative in the Idaho Legislature in 1923 through 1928. He was Speaker of the House in the sessions of 1925 and 1927. Gillis graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois in 1900, and he earned his LLB at the University of Washington in 1907. He moved to Filer, Idaho in 1920. He was elected Idaho Attorney General in 1928, and in 1930 he ran, unsuccessfully, for Governor of Idaho.
