Biographical Note
ISaac Ives Lewis was born on February 7, 1825 in West Meridian, Connecticut, and came to Idaho in 1877. Lewis helped found Ketchum, Idaho in 1880. He is credited with building the first dwelling in Ketchum on May 3, 1880. Lewis had an interest in the Elkhorn Mine, and he was also involved in commerce and banking. His ranch east of Ketchum later became the world famous Sun Valley Resort. Lewis died in April 1903 in Pasadena, California.
