Biographical Note
John Martin Taylor was born in Lafayette County, Missouri on April 3, 1861. He obtained a degree in engineering from the University of Missouri in 1882.
After graduation he worked as a ranch hand in Idaho on his brother's ranch. He then went to Kansas City, MO where he worked as an engineer for various companies.
He returned to Idaho and worked as an irrigation engineer until 1896, when he returned to the East to enter medical school at the University of Pennsylvania.
He interned at Johns Hopkins in 1900 and was admitted to medical practice in Idaho in 1902. He married Alice Whitman in Washington D.C. in 1904. He was active in many Idaho organizations. Dr. Taylor died October 1946.
