Biographical Note
Charles J. Munson was born in Attica, Indiana, August 14, 1861. He came west when he was 19 to become a cowboy, railroader, and prospector in Montana, Colorado, and Idaho. Moscow, Idaho became his home in 1884. In 1890, he married Clemma E. Roadruck and they had four children. HE ran on the Republican ticket for the legislature in 1896 and was defeated. He ran again and was elected in 1898 and again in 1900. Governor GOoding appointed him State Land Commissioner in 1905 and he served in this position until 1909. He died in 1945 and i sburied in Moscow, Idaho.
