Biographical Note
James H. Brady was born in Pennsylvania in June 1862. He moved to Idaho in 1895 at the age of 32. In 1908 he was elected governor but was defeated for reelection in 1910 by James H. Hawley. In January 1913, Brady was elected United States Senator for the unexpired term of W. H. Heyburn, who died in 1912. Brady was reelected for the next year term, ending in March of 1921. Brady died January 13, 1918 of heart disease. Brady was married to Irene Moore Brady at the time of his death. He had two sons, S. E. Brady and J. Robb Brady, from a previous marriage.
