George Edward Tonkin was an Idaho photographer active during the late 19th.c. and early 20th.c. George married Luella (Lulu) Mary Baxter in 1900 at Silver City. They had 1 child, George Edward Tonkin Jr. born 1903, Boise, ID.

Abstract

The bulk of the photographs were taken by George Edward Tonkin around turn of the 20th.c. with (2) of Boise Valley scenic photographs taken in 1935 by George Edward Tonkin Jr.

Custodial History

Images were kept in the Tonkin family and donated by Bill Tonkin to the Idaho State Historical Society, Idaho State Archives in 2013.
