Biographical / Historical

Richard John Pugh was born in Ohio, 1892. He married Lyda Rothlisberg in 1917 in Idaho. He served in WWI as a private, leaving Ilo, Idaho on October 1918 as part of Company E 423rd Telegraph Battalion Signal Corps. He returned June 1919 as part of the "Saint Qaignan Casual Co. # 4994 Special Discharge." At some point he and Lyda divorced and he married Frances Norman (1905-1988) in 1931 in Salem, Oregon. Together they had two sons, Richard Norman (1940-2020) and John James (1942-1984). He died in 1967 and is buried in the Masonic Garden of Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon.
