History

The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) was established in 1965 to manage and preserve the state's growing system of parks and recreational areas. It was created in response to increasing public demand for outdoor recreation and to ensure the conservation of Idaho’s natural and cultural resources for future generations.
