History
The Legislative Executive Reorganization Commission was formed in Idaho during the early 1970s as a response to constitutional reform limiting the number of executive departments. In 1973, following a state constitutional amendment that capped executive agencies at twenty, the Commission recommended a sweeping reorganization of the executive branch.
