Death of Calvary Scout H.H. Froman at Clear Creek (1878)
Contains six documents concerning the claims of the heirs of Horton Howard Froman, a scout under the command of Lt. Col. James Forsyth of the First Cavalry. Froman was killed in an engagement at Clear Creek against the Nez Perce on July 20, 1878. Forsyth is best known today for having commanded the 7th Cavalry at Wounded Knee on December 29, 1890.
