Research notes and photographs pertaining to Marion Perry Maus, lieutenant in command of scouts the Nez Perce campaign in 1877, and Lewis Mervin Maus, colonel in the U. S. Army Medical Corps during the Indian wars and the Spanish-American War.

Letters sent to Meta E. Gammon from 1918 to 1919, which chronicle the war-time journeys of two Northwestern soldiers assigned to the US Armed Forces Medical Department. The collection is stored in one record box, divided by originator: letters from Sergeant Ralph E. Gerber are in a cardboard "Letters" box; letters from Private Grant D. Godrey are stored in a single file folder. The collection also contains three Christmas greeting cards, none signed.
