Payette National Forest (Idaho)

Field notes relating to surveys of lands in Boise and Payette National Forest.

Manuscript and research materials compiled by Bowen relating to Emile Grandjean (1867-1942), forest supervisor of the Sawtooth and Payette National Forest, and the Boise National Forest. The collection includes Bowen's manuscript, "Grandjean, Man of the Forests"; photocopies of newspaper articles and census material; certificates of citizenship; obituaries; correspondence; and genealogical information.

Collection contains papers prepared for the Payette National Forest Heritage Program.

This collection of 339 black and white photographs documents forestry activities in the Payette and Boise national forests ca. 1911-1914. Included are photos of planting, site studies, grazing, homesteads, ranger stations, lookouts and log buildings.
