Biography
William James Carter was born on December 19, 1884 in Creston, Iowa to Louis Alvin Carter and Martha Ann Lucas. He married Lola Mildred Wilcox on May 22, 1912 in Joplin, Missouri. After moving to Boise, Idaho in 1906, William opened a photography studio, located at 606 Main Street, Boise and later moved to 115 N 18th Street. William died in Boise, Idaho on July 5, 1954. The 18th Street studio was purchased by the Veterans of Foreign Wars in August of 1955.
According to his obituary in the Idaho Statesman, William was a member of the First Christian Church and Modern Woodmen of America.
