Biographical Note

MaBelle and Hazelle were cousins, their mothers were both daughters of Rev. Nathen E. Gardner. The Meholin family moved from Butte to Boise in 1902. At the time of the move, MaBelle was 13 and Hazelle was 12. In 1912, Meholin married Chester F. Scott of Boise, with whom she had one surviving son, Chester Scott, Jr. After divorcing from Scott, Meholin moved back to Nebraska.
