Hope Cutkomp Kading papers

 Collection
Identifier: MS 0644

Summary

MS 644 revolves around two major themes in the life of Hope Kading--Republican politics and women's issues. The bulk of materials dealing with Republican politics are in records from Kading's unsuccessful bid for lieutenant governor of Idaho in 1974. There is also information from her bid for Boise City Council in 1977 and some of her activities with Idaho Young Republicans.

Kading's interest in women's issues are represented in this collection by her material related to International Women's Year (1977) and the Equal Rights Amendment. There are materials relating to the IWY state convention and information about the election of Idaho's delegates to the national IWY convention held in Houston. The ERA materials include a variety of notes and articles with information about specific issues, newsletters from pro-ERA organizations, information about the recision efforts, and newspaper clippings.
