General Note

Edith and Harold Vassar were living at the Big Creek Ranger Station in 1932 when their son, Robert Miles Vassar, was born at the Werdenhoff Mine. Harold was a ranger with the United States Forest Service at Big Creek. The family lived at Big Creek and later moved to Riggins, then McCall, Idaho where Harold became a chief ranger for the Forest Service.
