Biographical Note

Herbert Fitz was born on April 28, 1908. As a child, he lived in Iowa, Idaho and Texas. His father was a doctor and served as the chief surgeon of the 5th Infantry in San Antonio, TX. Herbert attend the Idaho Technical Institute College. He and his wife, Ruth, owned the Variety Drug Store in New Meadows, ID and the pair lived in New Meadows for 37 years. In addition, Herbert wrote columns for newspapers for 40 years, served on the Idaho Board of Pharmacy for 15 years, and was state representative for District 9 for eight years. Herbert died on February 3, 1999
