Biographical Note

Henry Z. Johnson, son of Richard Z. Johnson of Boise, was born July 16, 1865 in San Francisco, California. He was brought to Boise by his parents in 1878. After he graduated from Boise High School, he taught school at Quartzberg and Placerville. Later he attended the University of Michigan and graduated in 1888. Johnson married his wife, Alice, in the same year.

In 1889, he was admitted to the bar and practiced law in Chicago for four years. He returned to Idaho in 1893 and practiced law in Boise for 40 years. He passed away on July 8, 1952 at the age of 87 in Pasadena, California.
