This collection consists of the work of two Idaho photographers, George E. Tonkin and William Bach. The collection was given to the historical society by Mr. Bach.

The collection was divided between the two photographers: Box 1 - 10, George Tonkin: Box 1 - 8, negatives, gelatin dry plate Box 9 - 10, prints

Box 11 - 13, William Bach: Box 11 - 12, prints Box 13, negatives, acetate

Condition Description

Mr. Tonkin's collection is in overall stable condition. There are a few glass plates that are broken, emulsion has flaked off, some with significant image material loss. Mr. Bach's collection has significant vinegar syndrome. Images need to be appraised for digitization and placed in cold storage
