Biographical / Historical
Evelyn Wenstrom (1901-2002) was born in Minnesota, and was a teacher of French, German, and Latin in Slayton, MN, and Boise High School. She became the first licensed female pilot in Idaho in 1930. According to an April 9 1931 issue of Spokane Daily Chronicle, she flew to Lewiston in an Aeronca plane on April 8 1931. She returned to Minnesota and is buried at Mount Hope cemetery in Saint James, Minnesota.
