Thompson died in 1963. The album contains pictures of army life, construction and logging. Pictures are mainly along the north and south highway.

Most of the photographs were captured by mail carrier and amateur photographer Albert F. Brown of Boise, Idaho. Subjects include street views of Boise, construction projects, fairs, and rodeos. This collection also contains images of Brown's family and portraits of Brown himself.
