Silver City (Idaho)

This collection contains five black and white photographic prints related to western Idaho, with particular focus on Silver City, Idaho. Images of storefronts and dwellings in Silver City make up the bulk of the collection. One image of Succor Creek Canyon in Oregon is also included. All images photographed by Lyle Stanford.

Four black and white prints of Silver City, and eight negatives. Five negatives are of Canyon County, including the Map rock, and the Ward massacre memorial monument.

Collection consists of a letter (2 p.), envelope and photograph sent by George Stoddard, Silver City, Idaho to Isabel Jones, Boise, Idaho. Also included is a color scan of the photograph which shows Stoddard standing in front of the C.W. Moore Bank building in Silver City. In the letter, Stoddard refers to a recent trip taken by Miss Jones and her parents to Silver City, the weather, and his life in Silver City.

Photograph collection mostly taken by George H. Strickler, who was a motorcyclist and gunsmith. He worked for Morler's Cyclery in Boise. The photographs are not inventoried.

Collection contains six flat graphic items including plats of Idaho Power/Tip Top mill and adjoining sites in Silver City, Owyhee County, Idaho. Collection also includes photographs, a photograph album and a variety of reports, correspondence, and other materials pertainly primarily to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Steele of Silver City and the Banner and Empire mining companies.
