Collection consists of items related to Burke's work as the editor of the Hailey Times. This includes reports and publications from numerous federal and state agencies and organizations, news releases, bulletins, and other records from Idaho Associated Press, and printing supply catalogs and advertisements.

Biographical / Historical

Mary Elizabeth Thomas Peavey Brooks was Born in Kansas in 1907. Her parents moved to Gooding, Idaho when she was an infant. She received a bachelor's degree in Economics from University of Idaho in 1929 and had an illustrious career in both economics and politics. Brooks served on the Idaho State Senate and served as director of the U.S. Mint from 1969-1977, only one of three women to hold that position at the time. She died in 2002 in Hailey.
